Sunrise Seasonal Time shift in Haiku

As swimming season looms, I am both excited and terrified. March finds the water at it’s year round coldest with a temperature of around 7 or 8 degrees. I am challenged, not naturally tough. I am lazy, not naturally athletic. Do I need to remind myself of the benefits? Oh okay, let me do that then.

April

The ebb tide shore line

We pick up oceans debris

To marvel at it

May

Now a late Spring breeze

Rippling across the smooth glass

Of a gentle tide

June

Days at their longest

More time to collect beach stones

and sip hot coffee

July

Deck chairs are ready

We share the beach with others

Thirty Minute swim

August

Morning chill begins

It is much too soon surely?

Summer days shorten

September

Beauty every month

Late summer colours darken

A pristine dawn sky

October

Tiny autumn moon

Fishing boats trawl dark water

Sad the season ends

November

We watch the dark sky

Meteor showers marvel

Inky water fear

Thank you for reading.

Ever onwards with courage.
